All posts for the month December, 2012
1. What was your happiest moment?
My happiest moment of 2012 was… going on our first holiday as a family with Little man. We went to Egypt, and we had a fantastic time. Have some great family memories from the holiday. It was lovely just to spent time with my other half and Little man for 2 weeks just the three of us.
2. What was the saddest thing to happen.
This year for us has been a pretty good year. But for the last few months little man has been poorly on and off. I kept taking him to the doctors to say it is not normal for him to be ill all the time like he was. The finally decided to a blood test and found out he was anemic. He always used to eat his veg and has a good diet. He will eat anything. Once he started getting poorly when starting nursery, he was always off his food and didn’t eat a lot, which then seems like he may have gone slightly anemic. He is currently on vitamins with Iron in them and has another blood test middle of Jan to see if his levels have gone up.
3. Who let you down?
I don’t want to name or point towards the certain people who have let us down on here. But there are a couple of people who my partner and I feel have really let us down. Since January 2012 we have heard from these people twice and that was when they wanted something from us and needed our help. Being the kind of people we are, we helped out. But since we have heard nothing from them at all. Not a Christmas card, little man had no Birthday card nor did my partner or I. We feel very let down.
4. Who supported you.
My partner supported me. He is amazing and is always there for me, if I need to chat or moan he will always listen. He is my world and my rock.
5. Tell us one thing you learnt?
This year I have learnt to be a lot more tolerant. I have a short fuse, but I am now making that fuse longer and being more tolerant to things. I have also learnt who my real friends are, and who are not worth bothering about.
6. Tell us one thing that made you laugh.
Earlier on in the year the other half and I went away to Edinburgh for 2 nights. We had a great time and laughed all weekend. We never get away for the night without little man. My Mum and Dad looked after him so we could go away and relax. We did things that made each other laugh and had a good crack. Was a great weekend sight-seeing and going for nice meals and both of us being silly like kids.
7. Tell us one thing that made you cry.
Little man started nursery this year and he hated it. His room was at the front of the nursery and in the Summer the windows were slightly open at the top. When I left him he was crying and screaming, and when I walked out to the carpark I could still hear him crying as the window was open. This made me cry and feel awful for leaving him. I knew in the end he would love going there though , and he does.
8. Tell us three things you child/ children did that made you proud.
So the first thing was when little man started to walk. This was such a proud moment for us. It was like he was growing up and had so much more independence.
The 2nd thing was when he bought his first painting home from nursery. He drew me and his daddy a picture and it was such a proud moment, and for us another milestone of him growing up.
The 3rd thing is something not really that he did but how he behaved. As I said he had to have a blood test. My little man was so well-behaved, he didn’t cry or flinch or even mutter a word or even cry. He sat there and let the nurse take his blood. I was so proud of my little man. Even I cried for him 😦
9. Tell us one thing that made you proud of yourself.
I have always been able to cook OK ish. This year I decided I wanted to cook a more wide variety of meals. I got a few cook books, Jamie Oliver and BBC Good Food. I found recipes the other half and I liked and cooked them. I have always stuck to what I know. Now i am cooking something different every night. I am confident in cooking from a recipe now and feel like we are always eating something different and new. The other half loves coming home from work to something different each night, and it’s always a surprise. I am very confident in cooking now and will give anything a go.
10. Three things you would like to change for 2013.
My first thing is actually similar to another one I have read. We need to get out more at the weekends. Come the weekend my other half is tired from work and wants to chill out on the sofa. We have decided that we need to get out more, in the fresh air. Even if it just going for a walk to the park, round the meadows etc. Just getting out and getting fresh air is good for all of us and it is so refreshing to get out, rather than staying inside all weekend.
My second thing I would like to change seeing my elderly family more. I have 2 grandmas and I do not see them as much as I should. They have always been so good to me and I have not paid them back. I would like to spend more time with them and help them out more, as they are not getting any younger bless them. Even
The third thing I want to change is having more time with my friends. Since having little man I have seen my friends out a handful of times. This is in 19 months. I need to get out and have some more Me Time. See my friends and have a laugh with them. Most of my friends have stuck by me as they know it is hard having a baby and getting out. But I know my self that they will not stick around forever and always make the effort with me. It works two ways and I need to make the effort with them as well.

Hello to all the people who read my blog. I am really sorry that I have not posted anything on here over the festive period. On Christmas eve Little man was told by the doctor he had tonsillitis. Christmas day came and he had a high temperature, sticky eye and had been up most of the night crying, So he was then very tired in the day. He is still on antibiotics and is a lot better now. Just feels like Christmas has come and gone so fast, as I was busy looking after little man most of the time.
I will be back to blogging as usual now and letting you know what our family has been up to over the past week or so. Just wanted to let you all know I am still here, and why I have been a bit quiet.
Hope you all have a fantastic New Years Eve tomorrow. What are you all doing?
So I decided to get my secret Santa something funny. I got him a mug, which on the bottom says I’m a t**t. Good job I know him well enough to know he would take it as a joke and think it is funny. So when he is drinking out of the mug you can see what it says on the bottom. Most people got something rude such as nipple tassels, booby mugs, willy lollies etc. I however got something much better than any of that rubbish. I got a lovely bottle of my favourite red wine. I was very pleased with my wine as it is something I am able to enjoy, and not something that I will put away in the draw and not see it again for years.
The other half and I are very much enjoying my secret Santa present now. Lovely glass of wine to chill out with. Very relaxed knowing all of our Christmas shopping is all done, presents are all wrapped.
On Friday we have secret Santa at work. So today I am off to get my secret Santa present. I have a male to buy for who is up for a laugh and very outgoing.
What could I get him? I have so many ideas, from funny to silly to rude. I just can’t decide what to buy. I will post on here later what I decide to get.
I can not believe that a week today, we will be opening presents and eating massive roast Turkey dinners. Where has this year gone? I am assuming a lot of people will now be on the wind down to Christmas now.
I am looking forward to Christmas day so much this year. Our little man is now just over 19 months old, so he knows a lot more about what is going on. I’ve wrapped his presents so he is able to get his fingers into the paper and rip it open. I have wrapped every single present now. My shopping is 100% done, Turkey is ordered. The only thing left to get is the veg for our dinner. This year I have tried to be a lot more organised than other years. I think next year I will be even more organised and have my shopping done by November.
My partner and I decided to treat our self to a little break to Edinburgh for 2 nights in January. Going first class on the train. Little man is going to have a little holiday of his own at Grandma and Granada’s house. He loves being with my Mum and Dad as he gets spoilt.
PARTY TIME
Today little man attended his cousins 1st birthday party. It was the first birthday party he has been to. The party was at an indoor soft play area. Little man has always been a bit clingy when he is in a place he does not know, or if there are a lot of people about. I thought he would just want to be with us all the time and not go off and play. I was wrong he loved it. As soon as I put him down he ran off with his shoes on. I had to run after him to take his shoes off.
The first thing he ran to was the biggest ball pool I have ever seen. He was loving it throwing the balls and hiding his self under all the balls. He then went to the bouncy castle. Was very funny as he couldn’t get on himself. He was trying so hard and eventually I had to help him when he got angry that he could not do it his self.
Little mans favourite thing of the day was the slide. He went up and down the slide close to 30 times, he loved it so much. Even though he was tired, this did not stop him going up and down.
Towards the end of the party all the children sang happy birthday and got a party hat. Little man was not to keen on his hat. I did manage to get a picture of him in the hat.
We have finally got our Christmas tree up. I had the day off work on Thursday, and I made the house look very Christmassy. This was while little man was at nursery and the other half was at work. I left it late this year to put our tree up, this is due to the fact I know little man would pull the tree and baubles. I wasn’t wrong. Now the tree is up he wont leave it alone. I thought after a day or two he would get bored and leave it alone, but no he is far from bored of it at the minute.
I put some chocolates on the tree this year, like the chocolate balls, funny isn’t it how little ones knows the difference between baubles and the chocolate ones. Little man knows exactly which ones have chocolate in them. He pulls them off and brings them to me to open for him. He is allowed one day although he likes to think otherwise It’s crazy that Christmas is here in 10 days. Where has this year gone.
Today I have the day off work. The other half is at work, little man is at nursery. So what am I going to do? Well today is the day I am putting up our Christmas tree. We’re a bit late this year, but we have been so busy and not had chance to do it.
When little man gets home from nursery and the other half gets home, the house will look like a grotto. Will post a picture later after I have put all our decorations out and the tree up.
I don’t often see my grandma, something I really should do more. Four weeks ago my dad brought her over to our house to see us and little man. She bought little man some clothes which were lovely, and she bought me some flowers. Now these flowers were only cheap flowers from Sainsburys. Not usually the ones I would buy. Personally I would usually buy some more expensive ones, thinking they are better quality and look nicer.
This morning I was sitting at the table having breakfast and I looked at the flowers. I thought they look as good as the day I was given them. I can not believe theses are the cheap flowers that cost £1.99 a bunch, and on Friday I will of had them 5 weeks. I am really shocked with how good they still look.
Long lasting flowers
