Well 3 months ago my little man started nursery at Kiddicaru in Peterborough. He absolutely loves it but we did have some struggles to start with.
To start with he went for a few half days to settle him in we did some in the morning and some in the afternoon. Every time I left him he cried and cried which was hard but I knew it would pay off in the end when he got used to it and made new friends.
Nowadays I take him in and he just runs off and gets his breakfast and isn’t bothered at all about leaving me. We drop him off every Thursday at 0800 and we pick him up after work at 1800. While he is there he has some lovely food which is all homemade. He always eats it all. One thing which I really love about this nursery is that every day he comes home with his nursery book and it has inside what he has eaten throughout the day, what time he has had his nappy changed and whether it was a wee or poo, what times he has slept and what has been the group activity. So each night my partner and I sit down and have a read to see what our little monkey has been up to. I am so proud of how he has settled in especially as he only goes one day a week.
They have a beautiful new sensory room with lots of lights and water bubble machines. The nursery caters for tiny babies right up to pre school children. They have a massive outside area with bikes and toys and sandpits etc and from what I’ve read in little monkeys book they play outside quite a bit which I really like as he loves the outdoors.
I usually call up once a day just after he has had his dinner just to make sure he is OK and what he has eaten. Usually he is asleep when I call up just after dinner. The ladies are amazing with the children. I have met most of the ones who are looking after my boy and they are so nice and have so much time to talk to you about any worries or general queries you may want to speak to them about.
If you are looking for a nursery in this area you should most definitely give Kiddicaru a visit. I can not rate this nursery highly enough and my little man loves it which is the main thing for us as parents knowing he is happy.
Today we have been to Kiddicare Peterborough. We are very lucky to live so close to a Kiddicare store.
The store is set over three floors. On the ground floor you have everything you need accessories wise from bottles to sun shades for the car, to nappies and toys. You then have the second floor. Here you have all the prams and pushchairs. There are loads and loads out for you to have a look at. Finally the third floor is bedroom furniture and bedding. Kiddicare also have the 3D scanning room so you can go and find out the sex of your baby. Personally my partner and I decided not to do this as we wanted a surprise,Ii do however know a lot of people who have been here and can not rate it highly enough.
Back on the ground floor, there is a Huge selection of car seats. You can go and select a seat you like and then a member of staff will let you know if that particular seat will fit properly within your car. If it wont they will go through what ones are best for your car. They will also fit this in the car for you and show you how to fit it yourself once you are back home.
After having a look around we decided to let our little monkey have a play in the soft play area they have there. It’s really nice for him to go and play in a safe area with lots of toys. He loves it. Myself and my partner decided to have a coffee and sit and watch him playing while we had a chilled half hour. I also meet my friends here in the week and we go for a coffee and a catch up while the toddlers go off and play. A lot of people like it so much because you can sit and chat while still keeping an eye on your children as the seats over look the play area. Our little man was in heaven with all of the toys, he was running about non stop.
The car parking is free and there is ample enough spaces. Go and have a look if you haven’t already been there. If you are not lucky enough to live near the Kiddicare store you can always go online and shop till you drop on there.
Well, having a new baby carpets do not stay clean, especially after they are sick on the carpet and food gets dropped on the carpet, so I have decided to have my carpets cleaned. The guy is coming on Monday and he is doing the Living room, stairs, landing and two bedrooms for £50. I cant wait to have nice new looking carpets so I shall let you know on Monday how it goes.
Well here is my first ever post, on my first ever blog. I have to say I am really excited about starting this blog and can’t wait to get posting on here. I have decided to do this as my little boy is now 16 months old, this blog will mainly revolve around him and new things he’s been doing and milestones he gets to. Then later in life he will be able to look back at this and see exactly what was happening at certain times in his little young life.
About me… I am 25 years old and my partner (32) and I have one little boy and live together in Peterborough. We have two cats who are seven years old. We are a very happy family and everything we do is for our little boy. My partner works full time for a telecommunications company and I am now back at work part time two days a week.
A lot of my friends write blogs who have children and its not been something I have thought about before but I decided now is the time to give it a go.
Well that’s it for my first post I won’t go on to much as you will find out more about us in later posts.
Thank you for reading
